Head Coach
Phone: 484-620-4088
Linda began rowing in her junior year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a seat in the varsity 8+ the following year. Her first coaching experience was while a medical student at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine and from that time on she was hooked. After completing her medical training she was fortunate enough to be able to arrange her professional life to accommodate her real love. Although she has coached all ages and skill levels, for more than a decade with the St. Louis Rowing Club and more recently for the Shipley School and Philadelphia City Rowing, she enjoys coaching juniors the most. Her greatest reward in coaching high school athletes is the opportunity to see the personal development that occurs as a result of participating in rowing – the mental toughness, responsibility, perseverance, positive mental attitude, ability to work as part of a team, respect for others and self-confidence - that these kids develop. Her goal is to help each athlete reach his or her full potential. Her varsity teams have medaled at the Head of the Schuylkill, advanced to finals at Youth Nationals and medaled at Scholastic Nationals. The entire Iqbal family rows and one of Linda’s favorite activities is going out in the family 4X.

Ahsan Iqbal has been coaching Junior, Masters and National Team crews over the past 35 years. He started rowing as a Freshman at MIT and rowed all four years and earned his varsity letter. Those four years saw some of the most successful lightweight crews at MIT with wins over Harvard, Cornell, Columbia, Rutgers, Coast Guard and Dartmouth. He started Washington University’s competitive program and later started the Junior Program at St. Louis Rowing Club and was the Head Coach. By the time he moved to Philadelphia, this had grown to be in the top 10 junior programs in the country with medals at Youth Nationals, Club Nationals and Canadian Henley. His Varsity Women won the prestigious Head of the Schuylkill three years in a row. Ahsan coached Masters crews at Fairmount Rowing Association in Philadelphia as well as Shipley School. Both those crews were on the medal stands at Masters Nationals and Scholastic Championships respectively. He also coached the Pakistan Rowing Team at the South Asian Games in Sri Lanka and earned the green blazer. His crews won six silver medals. Ahsan was the Ugandan Olympic Rowing Coach accompanying Kathleen Noble to the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. He is keenly interested in scientifically training crews to their maximum potential both psychologically and physiologically.

Tate Aronstein
Assistant Coach
Tate is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she rowed for all four years, earned three varsity letters, and graduated in 2020 with a degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering. Tate began rowing in 2012 in Norwalk, Connecticut, at the Maritime Rowing Club. After achieving success on the junior level, Tate continued her rowing career as a walk-on at Michigan. During her time on the team, Michigan won the 2019 Big Ten Championship and secured two 3rd-place finishes at the NCAA Championships. In the spring of 2020, Tate's season and college career abruptly came to an end due to the cancellation of the NCAA season due to COVID. She graduated and relocated to Utah to start a career in management and strategy consulting. In the fall of 2023, Tate returned to the sport and was excited to take on her first coaching position with Utah Crew. Beyond her involvement in rowing, Tate takes full advantage of Utah's mountain sports, including climbing, skiing, trail running, and slacklining.
