No competitive sport is cheap! The equipment the athlete uses may be reasonably priced but the facilities that sport will use competitively will not be.
The tennis balls and racket might be cheap but the court is not!, the basketball maybe cheap but the court is not!, the swim costume and goggles the swimmer will use maybe cheap but the Swimming pool is not, The soccer ball may be cheap but keeping the soccer pitch watered and mowed is not and so the list goes on.
With most of these the expensive bit is provided by local city or county government. As at the moment Utah rowing gets no funding from any government body. Yet its not cheap. New boats cost over $10,000 normally in the range of $15,000 to $20,000 for a four and eights over $20,000 normally in the range of $25,000 to $35,000. Which in my book is not cheap. Then of course there are the safety launches, repairs and other running expenses, which isn't cheap either So we really would like your help.
We are a 501(c)3 charity so your donation would be tax deductible as well as providing some of the youth of Utah with great lifetime sport. To receive further information leave your contact details on 801-916-crew(2739) or send us an email.
