Sonia Witte
Sonia has coached youth, open and masters rowers to wins at Head of the Charles, New England Interscholastic Rowing Association Championships,
USRowing Club National Championships, and USRowing Masters Nationals. Sonia is the Head Coach for Utah Crew.
Nicole Hamory
Nicole fell in love with the sport of rowing as a walk on to the team at
Rutgers University. Her freshmen year she was awarded the "Outstanding Novice Award". In her sophomore year, she and her boat-mates
finished with a bronze medal in the Championship Four event
at the Head of the Charles. Her junior year she was awarded the
Most Valuable Athlete award which was repeated her senior year in
addition to serving as Captain of her team. After her college
rowing days, Nicole moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she coached the Buckingham Browne & Nichols Varsity Girls'
Crew to two back to back national championships. Helping young people realize their potential through rowing
and athletics became her passion. Nicole's rowing career
continued at Riverside Boat Club, Narragansett Boat Club and currently,
Great Salt Lake Rowing Club. Her final coaching stint in
Boston was at Community Rowing, Inc. where she coached the competitive
men's masters. Nicole also coaches the Huntsman Cancer Institute Rowing Team as well as privately.
Mike Horrocks
Mike is British and started rowing at Newcastle University but
it wasn't until he had started work in Birmingham in the UK that he really got hooked. Having raced in fours, pairs and eights without much success when he started to single scull things began to go well.
During his carrer he got to the quarter finals at Henley Royal Regatta in the Diamond Challenge Sculls, was 15th in the Sculler Head on the River Thames and was 5th at the British National Championships.
He started coaching in Birmingham but it wasn't until he went to live in Huntsville, Alabama that he found a rowing club that needed his services as a coach. A few years later he came to South Jordan and
started coaching Waterford crew and then got asked to coach Utah Juniors.
